Miles for California

Fenton-based Mid America Logistics, one of the fastest growing technology-enabled logistics companies in North America, is teaming up with Wise F&I, one of the nation’s largest providers of automotive asset protection services, to give much-needed support to those affected by the California wildfires. They will be collecting donations from Fri., December 7 through Sun., December 9.

Both companies invite those in the Greater St. Louis region and the Metro East to donate non-perishable food, non-alcoholic beverages, dry goods, and healthcare products to provide relief for the wildfire survivors. Mid America Logistics and Wise F&I aim to deliver a minimum of two truckloads of these goods to the affected areas of Northern California.

In addition, Mid America Logistics and Wise F&I will be donating one cent per mile for every shipment driven by Mid America Logistics during the week of December 7. The monetary donations will be given to a charity selected by the employees of both organizations to provide desperately needed basic supplies and medical care for survivors. Mid America Logistics will also offer free transportation for any existing client if they donate 12 pallets or more of donations toward the relief efforts.

“Leading an organization that has a large network serving California, it is our duty to support the region in this time of need,” said Mark Kummer, president of Mid America Logistics. “We appreciate everyone’s support and efforts, and we also want to thank the first responders and volunteers who have worked onsite to rescue people from the fires and provide aid to those in need.”

“Our company has a large dealer and agent base in California,” said Matt Croak, president and CEO of Wise F&I. “This event has had direct impacts to Wise F&I stakeholders. There are many ties between businesses in the St. Louis area and California. It is a privilege to extend our Midwestern values and generosity by providing an opportunity for the entire region to chip in and help wildfire victims in their time of need.”

Mid America Logistics’ trailers are slated to depart St. Louis on Tues., December 11 and arrive at the affected areas appointed by the two companies by the following weekend.

Those within the Gateway Region willing to donate can drop off supplies at Mid America Logistics and Wise F&I’s corporate offices at 900 South Highway Drive on the eastbound side of Interstate 44 in Fenton. Donors should look for a Mid America Logistics trailer and team members from both organizations when bringing in their donations. Personnel will be onsite from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fri., December 7, Sat., December 8, and Sun., December 9. All donations should be sealed goods.
